Since 2005, the Arab Film Festival in Tübingen is the oldest and most important forum for Arabic movies in the German-speaking region. In its 16th festival year (1st to 10th October) one can expect exciting movie experiences. New movies from and about the Arabic world are on the program. Therefore, the festival is an important intercultural platform. It is also one of the biggest festivals that focuses on Arabic cinema outside of the Arabic world. The opening program for the Arab Film Festival starts on 24th September. And offers a wide variety of events: movies, exhibitions, theatre, readings and much more.
Starting this year, the lawn at the Ammer behind the “Technisches Rathaus” (address: Brunnenstraße 3, 72074 Tübingen) is the new open-air-stage for the film festival. This is an easily accessible place between the city centre and the university campus. Because of the corona-pandemic, this year’s festival will follow the current corona-guidelines, no matter if the event is taking place inside or outside.
